Our workshop curriculum was written by people with first-hand experience living a military lifestyle. They understand how it tugs on a father’s heartstrings to hear his children bantering in the background when he talks to his wife from overseas. Or what it’s like to wait for weeks on end to get a letter from a loved one.
Workshop developers are also experts in the fields of positive communication, problem-solving, and relationship enrichment. Courses are backed by leading knowledge gained from current research and best practices.
Not a typical, dry workshop — Essential Life Skills for Military Families uses scenario-based, interactive methods to ensure students can relate to the real-life skills they’re learning. The workshop addresses the needs of individuals, couples, and families — and offers many options for scheduling and locations.
Essential Life Skills for Military Families, funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, is a collaborative effort between East Carolina University, NC State University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service.
